We did the Alpaca lovers tour, because I always wanted to have an up close and personal experience with them ! Carol taught us so much and the 4 of us enjoyed the entire tour. I definitely recommend this to anyone if you love alpacas because you get to take photos and touch them, feed them treats, and see them let out of the pens . I’d love to go back :) thank you!!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Highly recommend!

Our family loved this place! Carolyn is down to earth and has great knowledge of her alpacas. Awesome stories to share with the experiences of having the alpacas and we learned so much! We were able to feed and interact with them and the fur is so soft. The store has good products made from alpaca fur which is sustainable and hypo-allergenic. Looking forward to heading back in the summer when the babies have arrived :) thanks again Carolyn and Doug!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Great Experience

My family and I (myself, Grandma, Grandpa and 2 kids, 5 & 8) had a great time on Saturday. It was such a great and unique experience to be able to be up close and personal with the Alpaca's. We all learned a great deal of information! The kids are still talking about it!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Our private tour

We had an awesome time at the farm. It was very informative and thoroughly enjoyable for both the kids and the adult (kids) as well. We especially loved when the Alpaca lay down for us and let us pet them. They were very comfortable around us, as when they lay down that is their most vulnerable position. The grandkids were overjoyed and giggled with excitement. Hopefully when we go again we will get to see more crias (babies). There was just one Tyrone when were were there. Such a great day after being shuttered due to covid19. Thank you one and all for a wonderful time
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐⭐ Great Experience

We had a lovely time at the ranch. It was so interesting to hear all about the alpacas and get to see them up close. We were never rushed and got to take our time looking around. Very knowledgeable and welcoming. We will definitely be back!
Hi we are Doug and Carolyn from Kickin' Back Alpaca Ranch and we've been raising alpacas for over 13 years.
When we started we didn't know anything about raising livestock much less alpacas. We've worked hard to learn everything we can about raising and caring for them.
Along the way we discovered what unique and fascinating animals alpacas are and have had lots of memorable experiences.
Now we love to entertain and pass on what we've learned to others.
To ensure the safety of all, we have implemented the following changes:
We are just outside Markdale, Ontario which is about 1 ½ hours northwest of Toronto.
Appointments are required for all tours and they can be booked right here on-line.
The Private Alpaca Farm Tour is $75.00 for up to 5 guests, additional guests are $15.00 per guest. The Alpaca Lovers Tour is $125.00 for up to 5 guests, additional guests are $25.00 per guest. Children 2 years old and under are free.
The tour takes place in the "girls" barn so we are not out in the sun, snow or rain, however we do recommend that you dress appropriately for the temperature. The floors are very clean you don't need to worry about getting farm dirt on your shoes.
Make sure to bring a camera to take lots of pictures, crias (baby alpacas) are very photogenic. We also recommend you wear closed toe shoes for your protection while interacting with the alpacas.
For the comfort of our alpacas we ask that you please do not bring dogs to the farm.
When you arrive please park by the house and check in at the back door of the house.
Try to arrive a few minutes before your tour is scheduled to begin. Please notify us if you are going to arrive late but be aware that if you arrive late your tour may be shortened so the next tour can begin on time. More than an hour late your tour may have to be cancelled completely. There are no refunds or credit for short or cancelled tours if you arrive late.
Yes the barn where the tour is held is fully wheelchair accessible.
Depending on the tour you choose your time with the alpacas lasts from about 45 minutes to an hour and a half. Most of that time is spent interacting with the alpacas. Afterwords you are invited to visit the gift shop to see some of the one-of-a-kind items created from our alpacas fibre.
Not at this time due to public health concerns. We will continue to monitor the situation and start offering Public Farm Tours when we feel it is safe to do so again. When we do restart the Public Tours they will be Sunday's at noon.
A full refund will be given for cancellations more than 48 hours in advance, for cancellations with 48 hours or less notification your fee is non-refundable.
Choose the best tour for you and your guests.
